Friday Nov 26,2010

Ok, I survived yesterday, but it was ugly. Spent all day and night in bed sipping water. Liz was correct, the day after was terrible for chemo side effects. I think I'm on the mend. Had a waffle for breakfast this morning which helped(and it stayed down)  Guess I need to find out from the DR if the 2.5 days of continus chemo is what made it so bad or will is always be that bad? Any experieced folks out feel free to chime in here.  Soon as I think I can hold down a milk shake I'm off to the DQ.  Hope the chemo is worse on the cancer than it is on me.
Alice, could you add a comment on how to leave comments. Apparently there are some who wish to but not able to .  Another fun day, but getting some food in.

  1. Yes, chemotherapy is definitely worse on the cancer than it is on you. Chemo will be tough on you, but you are tougher than chemo.
You may want someone to get you a supply of movies for when you feel up to watching them. Maybe a few books. You'll probably feel like laying low for a few days after chemo, then you'll start to feel better...just in time for your next bout of the stuff :(
Get some crackers such as graham and/or saltine for times when you don't feel like eating but know you have to have something. Also, mashed potatoes seemed to be pretty easy on the tummy, chicken broth is good, too.
Okay, now sip some water. Okay, and another sip. Good.

  3. Get nourishment! I forget whether it's chemo or radiation that knocks out red blood cells, but iron-rich sustenance is good. When you can think about food without shuddering.

    Meanwhile, ginger ale?

  4. Dear John,

My mom said that you were looking for instructions on how to post a comment, so I wrote this:
